Tell us a little about you!
My name is Megan, I grew up in Plattsmouth Nebraska and now live in Bennington Nebraska with my husband Chris, my daughter Adalynn and our three dogs Athena, Gaia and Hazel. My husband and I own a vending business so when I am not at work, or we have a bank holiday you will find me out filling machines, ordering product, and managing the day to day of my family business. I have been in the banking industry for seventeen years. I started as a teller and from there I had the opportunity to learn different roles within banking. I have been a commercial lender for the past eleven years. I am a board member on the American Red Cross, a member of the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Woman) Omaha Metro Chapter. I am also involved with the West O Chamber, and the Valley Waterloo Business Association.
What is your current role at First Nebraska Bank?
My role at the bank is Vice President Commercial Loan Officer, Facility Manager and Branch Manager at our Valley branch.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love the relationship side of being a lender. Getting to know my customers and being able to be a part of them starting, expanding, and growing their business. It’s a very rewarding career to know that you are helping someone live the American dream of being a business owner.
What do you think sets First Nebraska Bank apart from other financial institutions?
I think what sets First Nebraska Bank apart from other financial institutions is the employees and our technology. We have the benefit of really knowing our customers and yet we have all the technology if not more technology than the larger banks. It’s really the best of both worlds.
If you weren’t in this career, what could you see yourself doing?
I have a strong passion and heart for community outreach. If I was not in banking, I could see myself working for a nonprofit or an organization in a business development role.
What song are you most likely jamming out to on a Friday afternoon?
Good Day by Forrest Frank!
