Tell us a little about you!
- Grew up in Hooper, NE
- Graduated from Logan View High School & Wayne State College
- Started with the bank in July 2008 as a lender and branch manager, then held a couple of different positions over the past 5 years
- Member of several boards in and around the Valley community
- Hobbies: golf and anything dealing with sports, or spending time with my wife (Andrea) and two children (Reagan & Henry)
What led you to your current position at the bank?
I have always been a people person – I enjoy meeting new people and finding ways that I can help them become successful in their current and future endeavors. Over the past 5 years, I have transitioned into a leadership role within the organization and although I am not as much customer-facing as I was in the past, I am able to help mentor and educate the next wave of staff to help our customers be successful.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I enjoy helping customers pursue their dreams – whether it’s purchasing a home, expanding a business, or helping a farmer, it's rewarding to watch our customers succeed. With my responsibility changing, I now get to focus more on helping co-workers achieve their goals and aspirations within the organization. Every role and responsibility is important for the bank to run efficiently and effectively and getting everyone to want to achieve that same goal is something I enjoy.
If you weren’t in this career, what could you see yourself doing?
Banking has always been a passion for me. If I didn’t get to realize this aspiration, I would have ventured into something in the finance industry. I enjoy working with people and figuring out their goals, so something I could have done with that skillset.
What do you think sets First Nebraska Bank apart from other financial institutions?
Definitely the small town feel with the big bank opportunities. Knowing the customers face & name when they come in the door is important to First Nebraska Bank. We get to see customers at community events, church, and sporting events. We are members of the community and not just bankers – we are here to support the community.
What song are you most likely jamming out to on a Friday afternoon?
I would definitely be listening to hair band radio – gotta love the 80’s!
