Tell us a little about you!
I grew up on a farm outside of Brainard and graduated from East Butler Public Schools. I’m currently attending UNL and will graduate with a degree in Accounting in December. First Nebraska Bank first hired me in May of 2019, and I return during school breaks to help. Whether on break here in Brainard or during the school year in Lincoln, I like to find ways to volunteer and help those in the community. My hobbies consist of playing games with my friends or family, and spending time with my girlfriend.
What is your current role at First Nebraska Bank?
I’m currently interning with the accounting department, mainly in accounts payable. I plan to start working full-time for the bank after I graduate.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing would absolutely have to be the people I work with. Regardless of which branch I go to, I always feel very welcomed and respected. My coworkers are always eager to answer any questions I may have, something that I feel helps me to be more productive at my job.
What do you think sets First Nebraska Bank apart from other financial institutions?
I would say our biggest strength is being a small-town bank while still offering a wide range of services. Truly one of the best things about my job is getting to visit with all the customers that walk through the door. Having grown up in the Brainard community, I know most of the customers from our branch, so it’s always nice to chat with them while I’m helping them. While maintaining the feel of a small-town bank, First Nebraska has plenty of services and products that benefit our customers.
If you weren’t in this career, what could you see yourself doing?
I would more than likely would still be doing something business-related, as I have really enjoyed the things I have learned through the classes I’ve taken and experiences I’ve had. Aside from business, I could see myself getting back into electrical engineering, which is what majored in before I switched to accounting.
What song are you most likely jamming out to on a Friday afternoon?
I like a lot of different types of music, but I would have to pick a song either from the 80’s or some modern pop.
