Tell us a little about you!
I grew up in various states, as my dad’s service in the Air Force had us moving around, but majority was in Idaho and Indiana. We then moved to Schuyler, NE where I graduated from Schuyler Central High School. I later married my high school sweetheart, Hayden, and we’ve called Columbus, NE our home for 35 years. We have two adult kids, Ashley & Clayton, and 5 grandchildren: Isaiah, Talon, Serenity, Taylor & Kiedis. My banking career spans 37 years, beginning with First National Bank Schuyler, Columbus Bank & Trust Co., and First National Bank of Omaha. In my free time, I really enjoy cheering on our grandkids at sporting events, attending their activities, and spending time with family. My hobbies include cooking/baking and scrapbooking family memories. I like to find ways to volunteer and be involved in the community, supporting the Columbus Food Pantry, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
What is your current role at First Nebraska Bank?
Mortgage & Consumer Loan Officer at our Columbus location.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
The small town and community feel, and being part of the First Nebraska Bank family that puts our customers first. My coworkers are always eager to help and answer any questions, which I feel sets the tone for success and comradery with all employees in our roles as one team. I enjoy guiding our loan clients through their home loan journey and figuring out how to best help the customer, especially through challenges. The variety of loan products that we offer allows us to serve our customers whether it is purchasing their first home, buying a vehicle, home construction, and much more. Having one lender serving a customers’ loan needs builds trust that customers value.
What do you think sets First Nebraska Bank apart from other financial institutions?
It’s very easy to see that our customers feel known and cared about here. The small town and community feel that we are all members of the community and are here to support it. Our focus on being customer lead and driven, offers us the opportunity to get to know our customers and serve their needs.
If you weren’t in this career, what could you see yourself doing?
Mortgage Lending and guiding my customers through their home loan journey has always been a passion for me, so I can’t imagine a different career. I’d have to say something still in finance and an office setting that allows me to build customer relationships and serve their needs.
What song are you most likely jamming out to on a Friday afternoon?
Definitely anything 80’s Rock & Roll.
